Things To Do In Cleveland-September 2012

on

I know it’s still August and so you’re ready to throw something at me for even putting the word September in your face, but it will be here in just 3 weeks so why not get ready now?! You know there’s always so many things going on at one time here, so here’s a heads up!

It’s the 1st of the month….

Cleveland Labor Day Oktoberfest– one of the most fun end of summer events! It takes place from Aug. 31-Sept. 3 at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds in Berea, Ohio. While it emphasises on Bavarian culture, it also features performance acts, food and drinks from over 20 different cultures. It also celebrates our city’s rich, ethnic history. Nastrovia! Prost! Cheers! http://www.artsinohio.com/event/cleveland-labor-day-oktoberfest

The National Air Show– Probably the most popular Labor Day weekend activity, It takes place this year from September 1-3 at Burke Lakefront Airport. The Blue Angels are the ultimate highlight, but there are also America’s only Cobra Helicopter Team and the B-17 Flying Fortress “Yankee Lady”. If you don’t want to experience it from Burke, you can also set up chairs to watch and enjoy at surrounding fun spots such as Whiskey Island Marina/Wendy Park (my personal favorite), at Edgewater Park or from patios of the many amazing restaurants downtown. http://www.clevelandairshow.com/

Taste of the Browns– Celebrating its 14th season, the Taste of the Browns is a fun event that benefits the Cleveland Foodbank. Football fans get to meet and mingle with Browns players and alumni as well as enjoy live music, food from local restaurants and enter auctions and raffle drawings. Make sure you get your tickets for the September 10th event at Browns Stadium and help raise money for Cleveland’s Foodbank! http://www.artsinohio.com/event/taste-of-the-browns-2

The 10th Annual Spark City Hop– This fun, FREE event will take place September 15th in downtown Cleveland and surrounding areas, from 11am-9pm. Free trolley rides from Lolley the Trolley will take you and your family and friends around town. There will be live sidewalk music, artist galleries and studios, festivals and more to enjoy! Come frolic around our amazing city!

They’ll have music, food, drinks and prize giveaways! Day passes are just $10, so if you’re a tattoo enthusiast you must check it out!  http://clevelandrockstattoo.com/

13th Annual PlayhouseSquare District Block Party and Tour– Celebrating the end of summer, this annual event at Star Plaza has many live events (including the PoP Tarts!), food from local restaurants and even a cornhole tournament. The Fireball Run!- The Fireball Run is a National live event and film series that will be kicking off this year in Independence, Ohio. The 8-day, 15 city, 2,500 mile interactive road rally and entertainment property supports the Race to Recovery of America’s Missing Children. I have a few friends participating this year, so I’m even more excited about this event! Come out to show your support and possibly make it in this NBC film! http://www.artsinohio.com/event/the-fireball-run

Thanks Leah. I spent some time at the North Union market yesterday and was so impressed… it was a great place to hang out and run into people, as well as get some fantastic food. I am not sure what will happen at the garlic festival: maybe contests: garlic clove spitting? bad breath testing? Not sure but I am sure it will be fun.
